Epiphyllum

Epiphyllum are epiphytic cacti native to tropical forests, where they grow along trees rather than in desert soil. Unlike traditional cacti, they prefer a bit more moisture and gentler light, making them well suited to indoor growing. Their unusual forms and trailing habit give them a relaxed, slightly wild look.

Caring for Fishbone Cactus

 Light Needs

Bright, indirect light is ideal. Fishbone cactus will tolerate some gentle morning sun, but harsh direct light can scorch the stems.

 Watering

Allow the soil to dry out partially between waterings. Unlike desert cacti, fishbone cactus prefers slightly more consistent moisture, but never soggy soil.

 Feeding

Feed once a month during spring and summer with an all-purpose houseplant fertilizer. Reduce feeding during fall and winter as growth slows.
