Lipstick plants are a trailing tropical houseplant best known for their glossy green foliage and vibrant red, tube-shaped flowers that resemble a tube of lipstick just opening. They have a relaxed, cascading growth habit that makes them ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, or elevated planters where the vines can spill naturally. When in bloom, they add a welcome pop of colour and a slightly playful feel to indoor spaces.

Caring for Lipstick Plant
Lipstick plants are fairly easy to care for, especially once you find a good spot and keep conditions consistent. They appreciate a bit more attention than some foliage plants but reward that effort with regular flowering.

  Light Needs
Bright, indirect light is key for healthy growth and blooming. Too little light will limit flowers, while direct sun can scorch the leaves. A well-lit room with filtered light is usually perfect.

Watering
Allow the top portion of the soil to dry out between waterings. Lipstick plants prefer evenly moist soil but do not like sitting wet, so good drainage is essential. They also appreciate a bit of added humidity, especially during the winter months.

Feeding
Fertilize once or twice a month during spring and summer with an all-purpose houseplant fertilizer to support strong growth and encourage flowering.
