About Philodendron

The Philodendron family of plants consists of almost 500 species, making it the 2nd largest member of the plant family “Araceae”. The name “philodendron” is derived from the Greek word for love (“philo” and dendron (“tree”).

Caring for Philodendron 

 Light Needs

Bright, indirect light helps maintain rich colour and compact growth. It will tolerate medium light, but lower light can result in longer vines with fewer leaves.

 Watering

Allow the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can dull the foliage and stress the roots, so err on the side of slightly dry.

 Feeding

Feed once or twice a month during spring and summer with an all-purpose houseplant fertilizer. Reduce feeding during the cooler months when growth slows.
